Our Italian team organized a conference on the 3rd May, taking place at the Gymnasium “Cicognini – Rodari” in Prato (Tuscany, Italy), suported by EuroDemos Youth Mobility NGO in cooperation with the Gymnasium Students’ Representative Body, aiming to inform students (mainly addressed to first-time voters) about the history of EU, its main bodies, how to vote and underlining the importance of the right of voting.
The conference was moderated by two young members of EuroDemos (Azaria and Federico) who, through the use of non-formal activities, led the whole development of the event. Starting from an interactive quiz (that gave participants the chance to face in a funny and competitive way what first-time voters should know about the EU), it has been possible to shift towards deeper focuses on topics and issues raised from both students and teachers and to clarify several doubts on EU institutions and EU elections.
The conference ran for 2 hours and half and counted on more than 25 participants between students and teachers.
All the participants were high motivated to be there and almost everybody actively participated in the activities and the discussion on the topics presented to them.
